We know Kole and Karter from our mommy/play group. It has been fun getting to know these last 5 months. Sadly they are moving to Austin at the end of this month. We are sad to see them go but we wish them (and their mom and dad too) the best in their new adventures. Keep in touch guys!
Kole cracks me up with his expressions. He is such a three-year-old with the the constant questions. "Why are you doing that?" "What does that do?" Now I think I am pretty funny. But if you know me well you know that I kind of have an odd sense of humor. I like puns and stupid plays on words, and odd things crack me up. Well I glad to find at least two other people who think I am funny!
and falling over... He actually does fall in slow motion.
The grass is soft but a little prickly. Simon was not so sure how he felt about it the first few times he fell. Here are the outtakes Here is my sweet boy! plying peek-a-boo behind the camera. My mom is so funny, she cracks me up!
too sweet for words : ) Just 10 months old and already walking.
Lyndsay tagged me with a "You Make My Day" Award. Awful nice of her : ) Now I get to name 10 people whose blogs inspire me and make my day. Here are the Rules: "“Give the award to up to 10 people
whose blogs bring you happiness and
inspiration and make you feel so happy about blogland! (leave them a
comment on their blog to let them know ) Beware! You may get the award
several times!”
Myles' First fathers day : ) So what do you do on the first sunny Saturday after a month of rain?... you have a photo shoot of course (I will share those photos soon). But after the work is done you can play! We celebrated Father's day a bit early with a bike ride. Myles loves biking so for father's Day Simon and I got him a bike trailer so the whole family could participate in the fun.
Here is Simon ready for his first bike ride. As you can see neither of my guys were being too cooperative for the camera. These are the 'lets-get-on-with-it-and-stop-messing-around-with-photos' pre-ride faces. My friend Kelly came over and we rode all the way out to the Redhook brewery and back. boy am I pooped! I am really out of shape and riding up our hill is killer.
taken after we returned home, I could barely stand up. Simon seemed to enjoy the ride once we got moving. He stayed awake for awhile but then fell asleep. We can't wait to do it again.
Pardon the lack of post and the following snap shots but we have been busy!
Simon has this play mat thing. It's usually good for about 10 - 15 min of entertainment. The other day I plopped Simon down in the middle and ran to get some laundry done (a chore that is hard to do with him in the sling) .
I put him down on the mat like this
when I came back he was almost off the mat.
He is very close to rolling over from back to front (we know he can roll the other way). I have seen him almost do it several times. Now I am a little suspicious that he is doing it behind my back. Look at little innocent face though it's almost like he is saying "what mom you left me just like this."
in other news we went to Jack's party, Simon had such a great time he fell asleep! you can see video of him here on Jack's blog.
Over at two peas we are having a self portrait challenge. I don't normally like being on the other side of the camera but since my current profile picture is more than a year old it is about time for an update.
Over the last three days I took 65 pictures of myself, and that doesn't even count the ones that I deleted immediately. During this process I realized two things. 1) taking a decent picture of yourself is really hard 2) I badly need a hair cut.
Out of 65 photos I have come up with two photos that I like. And since you, friends, family, and blog readers, are the ones who have to look at it for the next year I am going to let you have the final say. So with out further delay here are the two finalist.

and this next one was a close call because Simon is so cute but my cheesy smile is exactly why I hate having pictures of myself taken.
In this photo I am wearing Simon in my homemade Mei Tai. If you want to make one of your own the pattern can be found here.
and since I have a sense of humor and I can laugh at myself I will share a few of the outtakes.
I know that often my clients wonder about the images from their session that I don't show them - they think I am holding out on them. Well here is a prime example of the photos that I don't show.
Myles calls the image on the far right my "crack mama" photo. I don't have a remote so in order to take a self portrait I have to set the timer and then RUN! sometimes I don't make it, sometimes I am just slightly disheveled.
Ivy Well she is getting big too! cutier every day! and she is almost sitting up. I say almost because in this photo she is precariously balanced on her forearms, but doing pretty good! more photos from this session coming soon.
